Join a Future Summer Science Program for 2027 and beyond!

SSP International, Inc. (SSPI) is an independent non-profit that offers teens an exhilarating and inspiring immersion into hands-on experimental science during its Summer Science Program. 8 faculty and 36 participants form a supportive “living and learning community” over ~6 weeks (~5 for participants). Each participant team completes an authentic research project, taking and analyzing original data. Afterward, they join a worldwide network of over 4,300 alumni of all ages. More information can be found at www.ssp.org.  

If you are interested in applying for a future Summer Science Program but are not available for the upcoming 2026 season, this posting is for you! Submit your information now, and we will keep your profile on file for consideration when applications open for future summers (e.g., 2027 and beyond). All positions are in-person and require nonstandard hours (evenings, weekends) for six weeks on a university campus. When the full application opens, we’ll contact you if your background aligns with our needs. Each Summer Science Program team includes:

Academic Directors / Associate Academic Directors
Teach advanced STEM topics and guide students through authentic research projects in a collaborative, immersive environment. Lead participants through the research project and academic materials while prioritizing participant safety, well-being, and belonging. Requires a PhD in a relevant field and prior teaching experience.


Site Directors
Manage residential life, logistics, and safety for participants and faculty. Coordinate field trips, supervise faculty and participants, and foster a positive community experience. Requires strong leadership and organizational skills and 5+ years of experience working with teens.


Teaching Assistants / Residential Mentors
Assist participants with their research project (in labs and problem sets) and provide mentorship in a residential setting (lead community activities, supervise participant safety and well-being). Ideal for advanced undergraduates or early graduate students in STEM with residential leadership or mentorship experience.
